Industry spokesperson and a respected member of the sector, Phil Blain has over thirty years of franchising experience. Phil holds a Diploma of Franchise Studies, is an Accredited Franchise Executive (University NSW) and has a Certificate in Franchise Structure and Management (Griffith University).
A Fellow of the Franchise Council of Australia, Phil’s franchising journey began in 1987 with the purchase of his first franchise. He fell in love with the concept and subsequently became a multisite owner by buying another two. Eventually selling the business, Phil became GM of his previous franchise network.
It was in this role Phil discovered he had a great deal to share with those entering into the world of franchising. Patience, mutual respect and fairness are what Phil believes to be the key elements of a successful franchise. His teachings also highlight the need for expert consultants such as Franchise Right that serve to educate and support people within the industry.
The knowledge Phil passes on through informative and ground breaking articles have helped pave the way for the industry to lose its ‘cowboy’ tag and be seen as a professional industry.
